Abstract
This passage introduces the concept of the all-optical network, strengths, architecture and basic structure of all-optical network in key technologies, all-optical networks of the two stages of development and the status of all-optical network. From the high-speed and large-capacity information of the network system to the development needs of that fibre-optic network optical communication system is the mainstream of the future direction of the development of photonic technology in the network system will become the main technology, play an importance role. And its basic function construction can be divided into four parts, which are: ultra-high speed and high-capacity information bits’ sending and loading; the loading and flexible add-multiplexing of the users’ information demands; the rapid information exchanging and sharing among networks; and the network’s efficient economic routing choosing for transmission channels. In these systems of the structure including integrated laser, coupler, routing the wavelength converter and rapid response optical switch matrix, and so on.
