A Textual Research on the Establishment and Abolition and Negeri and Counties of Yulin County before Sui Dynasty
Abstract
There are some mistakes in the recording about the establishment and abolition and negeri and counties of of Yulin County before Sui Dynasty. In fact, Yulin County was set up in the Yuan tripod sixth of Emperor Hanwu (BC 111 year) and it existed for the afterword dynasty until the first decade of Kai huang (AD 590 years). After Sui Dynasty conquerd Chen Dynasty, the Yulin county was canceled. After the establishment of the five years the County did not belong to any province. Then it belonged to Jiaozhi (Surveillance area) from the Yuan seal fifth of the Western Han Dynasty (BC 106 year) to the Jian'an seventh of the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 202 year). But it belonged to negeri Jiaozhou (Region) in the Jian’an eighth year (AD 203 year). Then it belonged to negeri Guangzhou in the huangwu fifth of Sun Wu (AD 226 year), and re–belong to negeri Jiaozhou about five years later. Then it belonged to negeri Guangzhou in the Yong’an seventh (AD 263 year). In the Tianjian sixth year of Liang Dynasty (AD 507 year), the County belonged to negeri Guizhou. Then it belonged to negeri Dingzhou in the Ordinary fourth year of Liang Dynasty (AD 523 year). (Later negeri Dingzhou was renamed negeri South Dingzhou.). Then Yulin County was belonging to negeri South Dingzhou until it was canceled. There were 12 counties which were under the jurisdiction of Yulin County in the Western Han Dynasty. There were 11 in Eastern Han Dynasty, 9 in Sun Wu Dynasty, 9 in Xijin Dynasty, 21 in Dongjin Dynasty, 17 in Song of Southern Dynasty, 15 in Nanqi Dynasty, 7 in Liang Dynasty, 7 in Chen Dynasty. The area of Yulin County was more and more little during Liang–Han,Sun Wu,Liang–Jin and Southern Dynasty.
