Title:The drive-style of main oil pump and it’s optimization
ABSTRACT
Investigated many steam turbines with tooth-coupling, and studied how they were running. we researched many high-frequency maintenance and accident trips which were conduced by the abrasion of the main oil pump, and referenced the similar damages of other steam turbines, and studied the cause of the damage. This paper commenced on the movement of the coupling, and analyzed how the main oil pump coupling can fit the steam turbines. According to the damage of the coupling, we found the cause. The difference between the rotor of steam turbine and the rotor of main oil pump, and the clearance of the thrust pad on main oil pump, are two important data during the installation of main oil pump, and there are difference results on the two data. In fact, it will be dangerous for the turbo-generator unit if we use the two data without selection. Analyzed the theory of how to adjust the centers, the position of the inlet of main steam, and heat preservation near No1 bearing, and gave the standard of the center of main oil pump; for the safety of the steam turbine, made clear the scale of the thrust pad of main oil pump. Practice has shown that this way could raise the safety of the unit, and lower the maintenance spending of the unit. The drive-style of main oil pump with tooth-coupling doesn’t match the turbo-generators with DEH system, the best choice is to use a direct connect coupling, and it can improve the safety and economic. and gave some advice to the plants which don’t want to change their steam main oil pumps.
