Abstract
Nowadays, taxis play an important part in city life, which not only make it convenience for people to travel, but also act as the symbol of a city. Top light is one of taxi’s symbols. And its future development should be that how to show the work state of taxi clearly. The author will have a new design for folding-style top light. Therefore, firstly, the author tries to know drivers’ and passengers’ opinion to original design of top light by market research. Then, the author will make the relevant design and improvement according to the research. This design adopts folding –style shell. And with its inner four-bar structure drive by electric, the top light represents that the car is empty or has passengers, or not in the working state by making the top light open or close. The author pays much attention to the design of top light circuit, making sure that it is convenient to install, and there is no necessary to re-arrange the circuit before changing common top light into folding-style top light. What’s more, the control of folding-style top light is the same to common one. As to material, it would be light-emitting with high-brightness, which can improve reliability, enhance brightness, and extend operation life span. The top light has effectively shortened the distance that passengers need to judge working state of taxi. Besides, this design has already applied for national utility model patent, and the application number is 200920120918.4.
