Abstract
Alumina ceramic is the world's production of the largest and broadest application of industrial ceramic materials, has a very attractive prospect. However, because of its high brittleness and poor uniformity of the Achilles heel, affecting the reliability of ceramic components and the use of the work of security, therefore, to improve the toughness of alumina ceramics is an important problem demanding prompt solution.
In this paper, ceramic ZrO2 toughened Al2O3 ceramic on the basis of different contents of MgO, CeO2, Y2O3 ceramics of ZrO2 toughening performance, and based on this study the stability of Y-ion ZrO2 phase transformation toughening Al2O3 ceramics. Results: After adding some MgO ceramic bulk density has been enhanced, with the addition of MgO increases the size of the density of ceramics first appeared in the trend of increased and then decreased; CeO2 addition can effectively improve the sintering properties of ceramic ZrO2, With the addition of CeO2 increased the size of the density of ceramics increases. Although CeO2 ceramic ZrO2 refined grain size, and promote the densification of ceramic, but not the elimination of cracks in ceramics; add the appropriate amount of Y2O3 can effectively improve the sintering properties of ceramic ZrO2, Y2O3 With the increase of the content, ZrO2 ceramic volume density at first increased and then decreased trend; for the use of Y2O3 stabilizer, and smaller when the ZrO2 content (<20%), help to improve the density of ZTA ceramics; With the addition of 3Y- ZrO2 increases, ceramics gradually refined grains.
