Abstract
Electrical eddy current retarder, a kind of auxiliary braking device used in automobile, is indispensable to the coach-bus、the lorry and the commercial vehicle running on the mountain road. Electrical eddy current retarder undertakes 50-90 percent of the brake work, which cool the wheel clutch greatly, thereby, electrical eddy current retarder can keep wheel braking system in order to work. Hereby, this issue based on existing elements of electrical eddy current retarder, designed a smart wire eddy current retarder device.
Eddy current retarder device apply theory of electromagnetic induction and Lenz's law, creates electrical eddy current at the rotation of the rotor metal surface, and generate the magnetic field with opposite field windings, changes the kinetic energy into heat energy, so as to achieve the purpose of braking. Firstly, this issue summarized the existing assistant braking system, compared the advantages and disadvantages of various assistant braking system, and summarized the current situation of electrical eddy current retarder. And it checked production of the important parameters inductance retarder device. Secondly, this issue based on existing elements of electrical eddy current retarder, it brings forward the design proposal of eddy currency retarding controlling based on the controlling way of PWM and its detailed design idea, so that it can achieve braking torque stepless regulation. Though controlling and testing the working status of eddy current retarder about the rotor temperature, excitation winding current and braking torque, which verifies the functionality and reliability.
This issue accomplished the eddy current retarder device manufacture, designed corresponding electronic control system and built performance test bed. It has made a start for the research about new generation retarder device, and has made a elements for empolder stepless regulation system about brake force.
