On Tao Shao-qin in the NO.2 Middle School of Guangxi Province
Abstract
Tao Shao-qin(1902-1988) was from Yulin, Guangxi. He was a senior engineer of China Mineral Technology Research Institution. It was an important turning-point in his life enrolled in the NO.2 Middle School of Guangxi Province. In the study period, he made good and valuable friends with some famous people such as Chen Zhu, Feng Zhen, Tan Jie-fu and Huang Xiao-peng. They were always traveling in the great nature, writing poems while drinking wine together. Tao Shao-qin also organized Scouts to boycott Japanese commodities and acted as the scoutmaster. He was the editor of Jiu Guo Chen Bao(《救国晨报》), took part in the Wuzhou Students’ Patriotic Movements and propagandized the New Culture Movement, which had played a promotion role in Wuzhou anti-imperialist patriotic movement and the new culture during the May 4th.
