Abstract: This dissertation gives a brief introduction of packaging industry, the characteristics of packaging disciplines, and the history of packaging engineering in development of Higher Education in China and abroad. By visiting the web sites and access to relevant information, this paper summarizes the education in packaging in views of 20 universities in China and 10 of foreign colleges. Obviously,it analyzes the comparison of packaging engineering of higher education in United States , German and China,and points out our weaknesses.In United States, they aim to cultivate high-level technical person who grasps the professional ability, the German students in colleges and universities are fostered to bulid working ability and practical skills, While in China,the different colleges and universities have their own orientations,ignoring the well-developments of students. Finally,it analyzes education conditon and problems of packinging engineering,brings forward new methods and advices in terms of our school education system packaging, curriculum links and practical proposals and suggests the idea of school-run enterprises in the future.
