Voltage reference is the vital basic module which is widely adopted in analog circuits(mixedsignal circuits). It can supply a voltage with high precision and high stability. The powersupply, technics parameter and temperature has lesser effect to this voltage. The principle is to use the PN junction voltage negative temperature coefficient and the current density under two different PN junction voltage difference is the temperature coefficient of mutual compensation voltage due to the output voltage to the low temperature drift.
In this paper the present situation and developmental trend of voltage reference studies both at home and abroad will be presented. The performance index of voltage reference will be introduced in detail, the principle and structure of bandgap voltage reference will be analyzed, and then the different structure will be compared. By analyzing the power supply rejection ratio(PSRR) and the principle of temperature compensation, the method of improveing the temperature characteristic will be summarized. , the circuits have been simulated with Multisim10 simulation tools The design of a bandgap voltage reference circuit with high power supply rejection ratio and good temperature characteristic is completed by applying curvature emendation
