Electromagnetic field and wave have complicated space distributions, and only through theoretical derivation and experimental measurement can we analyze the distributed characteristic of Electromagnetic field. So, in order to describe the nature of Electromagnetism better, it is fairly necessary to draw various graphs of Electromagnetic field varying with time and space.
This paper introduces the basic principles of the rectangular waveguide and the circular waveguide, while the analytical expressions are derived under the various modes of distribution of the electromagnetic field. This paper also discusses the transmission characteristic and a single-mode transmission conditions of the waveguides. We bring forward a simulation method that use MATLAB simulation function to draw the internal distributions of electric field and magnetic field of rectangular and circular waveguides. At last, we have the analysis of the result of simulation.
Through the analytical results we can see that the visualization of Electromagnetic field and wave can be realized rapidly and effectively through the powerful functional tools in MATLAB.
