Abstract
With the development of the automobile industry ,the study on high performance tire is becoming an active research field attracting researchers all over the world. Produced and use of radial tires to replace other tires is the development direction of the industry in our country. Moreover, itmakes the tire research to be an area full of challenge that the research is closely related to many subjects such as science of material, mechanics and mechanical engineering, etc, and especially that the materials used for tire, the large deformation of tire and the contact between tire and road are all dealings with strong nonlinearity.
In the CAD for tire structure design, a new digital method for drawing the contour of a tire is developed in this paper, which makes the drawing of tire contour more freely than before. The digital contour can be transferred to FEM program to build the FE model,and the amount of elements can then be under control. By this way, convenient data handling and quick solution can be achieved.
Based on the study, a Comprehensive Analysis Syetem by Dynamic Simulation (CASDS) proposed in this paper which can be run at high speed on a PC. The CASDS has been used the development of a new product, radial tire 205/60R15, to simulate the following cases: (1) aired tire; (2)aired tire with high speed rotation; (3)aired tire contacted with road under vertical load only; amd (4)aired tire contacted with road under vertical load and horizontal pulling force.
