Title: Study on Influence Factors of Compliance in Patients with Hypertension
ABSTRACT
Objectives: To investigate compliance with drug, following-up visits and lifestyle, and factors influencing compliance, in patients with hypertension. To develop nursing interventions for improving compliance of patients with hypertension.
Methods: A total of 339 patients with hypertension were selected, who were in hospital from June to December in 2008 .Compliance was assessed by using a self-administered questionnaire .
Results:
1. Good compliance in drug compliance was 39.8%, following-up visits 67.3%,
nonsmoking 86.7%, alcohol assumption 79. 1 %, dietary restrictions 70.8%,activity 68.1%，body weight 54.0%, and five pieces of lifestyle compliance only 34.2%.
2. The influence of drug compliance was significant following as: age,frequency of dosing, type of drug, treat effects of near future, condictions of patients，ways of paying medical treatment, community interventions and hospital services.
3. The significant influence factors of following-up visits were: medical conditions, course of hypertension, frequency of in-hospital, treat effects of near future and ways of paying medical treatment.
4. Sex, age and medical conditions significantly influenced nonsmoking. Education level influenced alcohol assumption significantly. The influence of dietary restricts was significant following as: type of drug, medical side-effects, age and hospital services. The significant influence factors of activity were: course of hypertension and ways of paying medical treatment. The influence of body weight was significant following as: education level, course of hypertension, blood pressure, community interventions and hospital services.
Conclusion: Health education, community interventions, cooperative patient-nurse
communication, simple medication regimen and medicine nursing can improve
compliance.
