Title: Nurses encounter violence in the workplace,Analysis and Countermeasures
ABSTRACT
Objectives: The purpose of this study through the investigation of workplace violence nurses face-prone location, time,and easy-risk population prone, resulting in violence the main reason for the development of targeted coping strategies for the prevention of workplace violence in hospitals to provide a basis to reduce hospital the workplace, the incidence of violence to protect the personal safety of nurses.
Methods: The survey employed a stratified sampling method groups,to the nurses in this region for the investigation of objects,issuing questionnaires,unified recovery and investigative tool used Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) and in accordance with the hospital in the workplace the definition of violence developed questionnaire.
Results: (1) The survey found that the hospital workplace violence-prone locations for the emergency department,paediatrics, obstetrics and other emergency nature of the work of the sections. (2) prone to violence, shortage of time, such as when the evening, when the lunch break. (3) easy to hit the hospital workplace violence in the crowd were women, E points higher, to work a short time, lack of experience and mid-level professional titles to work long hours for more than a lack of patience of the nurses are violence-prone groups. (4) "differences in personal qualities of nurses," "loss of self-control capacity of the perpetrators," "patient outcomes and expectations there are gaps," "hospital management deficiencies" is causing the main reason for workplace violence in the hospital,while the "patient's rights protection a strong sense "," social bias "" laws and regulations are not perfect "and is also the hospital workplace violence can not be ignored.
Conclusion:nursing staff and improving their quality, strengthening the work of responsibility, focus on improving communication skills, improve care and service quality, increase patient satisfaction, which can effectively reduce the incidence of violence. Hospital management department to strengthen its environmental management, reasonable arrangements for personnel,reducing the incentive for violence. Through the hospital workplace violence prevention knowledge and training to enhance the capacity of nurses to prevent violence. Hospital security departments must fulfill their duty in time to stop the violence tendencies, can effectively ensure that the medical order and the safety of nursing staff.
