Left-behind children in rural areas refer to a special social group produced by the rural migrants who leave their minor children in the registered place when they make a living outside the registered place. It refers specifically to the children who are separated from their parents or one of them and stay in the countryside. Due to the lack of normal family protection environment, it has caused many serious problems, such as intergenerational upbringing, children's mental health and personal safety infringement, which may lead to the imbalance of basic education in rural areas and affect the smooth implementation of compulsory education. This paper takes the rural left-behind children in poverty-stricken areas of Jiyuan City in Henan Province as an example to analyze the education problems of rural left-behind children and give corresponding countermeasures. This article is divided into four chapters, the first chapter mainly introduces the significance and purpose of this study, as well as domestic literature review on Left-behind children; the second chapter mainly introduces the background and reasons of the generation of left-behind children in rural areas; the third chapter mainly introduces the types of Left-behind children's guardianship; the fourth chapter investigates and studies the left-behind children in rural areas, taking the left-behind children in poverty-stricken villages and towns in Jiyuan City, Henan Province as an example, to In the existing problems, and give the corresponding countermeasures and measures in time.
