Abstract
With the development of wireless communication,microwave power amplifier has been an important component in microwave communication, its capability effects the quality of the communication in a large extent. So it has been paid more and more attention in the research and design of microwave power amplifier.
In this paper, firstly the nonlinear characteristics of the microwave power amplifier have been analyzed, and several impedance matching circuits for the power amplifier have been introduced. Then according to the required features, the input and output impedance matching networks have been respectively designed for a given transistor, using microstrip line model to solve this problem. And after having used the ADS software to make S-parameter simulation and optimization, a large signal microwave power amplifier is finally designed. With a series of rigorous experiments and tests, the maximum gain of the designed power amplifier can be up to 7dB .
