Design of monochrome display
Abstract
The monochrome display is designed with the 40-pin AT89S51 MCU (Micro Controller Unit) produced by the American ATMEL company as the core. This paper introduces its control system for electronic display LED dot matrix and monitor dynamic design and the development process. It drivers display to show through the control of one decoder 74LS154 and three row driver ULN2003 by the chip. The electronic screen can show all kinds of written or monochrome images. It shows one full screen display Chinese character and adopts four pieces of 8 x 8 dot-matrix LED display modules to form the 16x16 dot matrix display mode. The display adopts the dynamic show that can achieve the static graphic or text, shift in and out etc. This paper describes the hardware design of the LED dot matrix display and the principle function of the various parts of the circuit, the corresponding software program design and the notes in detail.
System procedures used assembly language for editing and controls points indicated by the corresponding LED anode and overcast extreme level by programming so that we can effectively control the showed bright spots’ on and off. The shown characters data can prepare themselves or extracted from the standard font.
LED display feature is fabric flexibility, stability, low power consumption, long life, mature technology, low-cost features .It is widely used at the station, securities, sports venues, transportation corridors and various indoor / dissemination of information on foreign shows occasions, good publicity, real-time environmental parameters, countdown major activities etc.
Test result shows that, this system shows error is small, the performance is stable, the structure is reasonable and it has expansion ability.
