Abstract
Clutch development so far , the most of the clutch use the way of the purpose of the friction plate and the pressure plate directly contact or separated to realize the function of the clutch. because of the principle and the construction of the function and the impaction of large dynamic load, the traditional clutch will appear the phenomenon of heavy wear, short life and the big noise.
A new fluid clutch that uses a magnetic fluid as a medium to connect the smart material pressure plate and friction plat is able to overcome or reduce these shortcomings. It use magnetic fluids in magnetic field in the shear force to transfer torque to achieve the role of clutch. the characteristics of magnetic fluid makes the clutch itself has a short response time, turning the resistance control, compact structure, easy operation and long service life.
And taking into account the current instability of some electrical controls and the use of land stability, we use the machinery and magnetorheological way to control the clutch. usually we use the magnetorheological clutch. when control of magnetorheological become unstable or has a problem, we can use the machinery way to control the clutch. so we can ensure the stability.
In the design we must know the characteristic of the MRF that is the important part of the clutch. we also know the structure and working principle of the clutch. reference to the traditonal clutch, we can design the structure and the magnetic circuit of the new clutch. that will make the structure and operation simple as possible. After we design the structure of the clutch, we will calculate the size and solve the problem of the interference and the check. so we can come to truly magnetorheological clutch and mechanical control to integration, and ensure the security and stability.
