Abstract
The research adopted Pro/E software in designing the 3D sculpting of the telephone panel and its injection mold. Through an analysis of telelphone panel parts and its material, it discussed the parts’ molding process and designed a mold with two cavities. It determined the mold’s structure plan, including the confirmation of cavity arrangement, parting line and gating system, the selection of ejection modes and mold’s material and its strength calculation. Besides, it also ensured the structures of main formed parts and structural parts, and the check of mold’s parts’ strength, as well as formed parts’ work sizes. It grasped the methods and skills on and finished the mold’s 3D modeling and its assembly. The mold designed in the research had advantages of simple structure, reliable motion and good vents. It is suitable for the part which is complex with thin layer. This research made full use of moden 3D CAD design sortware, and use top-down function and assembly analysis tool to check the mold’s interference possibility and verified the design result. It fully showed 3D’s good application in mold design.
