Abstract
MPLS (Multi-protocol Label Switching) seamlessly integrates the routing technology of IP and the flexibility of two layers of simple exchanges by absorbing some ideas of the ATM VPI exchanges, which also increases the MPLS connection-oriented properties in the connectionless-oriented IP networks. MPLS has added some managements and means of operations to IP network through the establishment of the "virtual connection". As the rapid technological development of the network, and the application of MPLS gradually shifted to MPLS VPN. In the IP network, MPLS VPN also has been showed its great functions to the operators, which can resolve interconnections of the enterprises and provide a wide range of new business, so the operators increasingly attach more and more importance to it, which has been the central means of important value-added business in the IP network. Since the applications of MPLS VPN become more and more broadly, and from the current development trend which is likely to become the dominant VPN technology. And therefore it will have a promising future in the field of the network research.
Firstly the feasibility and design of MPLS VPN was analyzed and introduced in the paper. Secondly all of the modules for configuration and testing for final assembly and testing were expatiated. Finally, the methods and steps of MPLS VPN access by using of Cisco router were expatiated.
