Design of Spectrum Analyzer based on LabVIEW
Abstract
In analysis and transaction of signals, spectrum analyzer is a classical and important instrument which is mainly used to analyze the time domain wave, amplitude, spectrum domain wave, demodulating analysis, digital filtering, and correlate analysis. This paper presents the design and implementation of virtual spectrum analyszer. This virtual instrument (VI) is designed using the graphical programming language LabVIEW and is capable of performing on line measurement and off- line analyzer. It has many functions including data acquisition, display and analyses in the time and frequency domains, as well as archiving process. The VI presents a user-friendly human machine interface.
The virtual spectrum analyzer has combined the technology of virtual instrument, spectrum correcting and software programming. With data acquisition system, the experiment data are put into the computer, analyzed and measured by the virtual instrument. The results are transmitted into the monitor or file. Involved the topic of designing and realization of virtual frequency spectrum analyzer, the theories of frequency spectrum analyzer and the realizing methods of the instrument functions are researched. The problems during designing software are analyzed.
The technology of virtual instrument is a new achievement combined by test and instrument technology in the process that the developing hardware, software and bus technology of computer penetrate into other fields. And the intelligent controls-oriented virtual instrument is a fire-new model in development of virtual instrument. It brings a fire-new appearance to spectrum analyzer that using the ideal of intelligent controls-oriented virtual instrument in the manufacture and design.
