Artistic Application of Active Rhetoric

Abstract: Text message is a newly emerged fashion, which has been widely used in recent years along with the rapid development of the mobile communication, but it has become one of the most favorable communicating measures of people from very beginning. The text message is called the Fifth Media. Although it is a new fashion, it can affect our private and social life. Emotion is the foundation of arts, and rhetoric is the activator of people’s feeling. If one wants to move other’s mind, he must touch their emotion. Emotion is the lifeline of a text message. The success or failure of a message mostly depends on whether the emotion in it is true, sincere and significant. Rhetoric is the means of transferring human’s emotion. Even in a simple message it is also impossible to be emotionless. Some excellent text message relies on the flexible using of rhetoric and expresses people’s emotion well and affects receiver’s mind. Rhetoric includes the active rhetoric and the negative rhetoric. This essay researches the text message which is widely used by analysing its characteristic、editing skill and application of traditional rhetoric. The essay also aims to find out what the active rhetoric brings to the text message culture and its artistic effect.
