“Jingdezhen” is one of the most representative appellations of origin which full of competitive capability in our country. The protection of this appellation of origin will not only enhance the development of the traditional culture of our nation and the ceramic industry, but also preserve the consumer’s right. This article aims at making some investigation and analysis to the protection of Jingdezhen’s original appellation, the objective of the first part is to make some brief introduction, the second part emphasizes on historical origin of Jingdezhen ceramics’ appellation of origin, and thereby studies the profound knowledge implied in it. Then in the third and the fourth part, through the investigation of the protection of appellations of origin and the evaluation of effect of the protection work, we summarize the experience and learn a lot from this. In the final part, on the basis of the investigation and analysis, the article suggests some practical and feasible protection countermeasures according to the principles made by the World Trade Organization, such as we should try to give it the legal protection by the trademark law; we must strengthen the government function, surveil the enterprise, guaranteed the quality of porcelain produced in Jingdezhen; The management and supervision department must popularize the knowledges of appellations of origin protection to the ceramic enterprises, in order to enhance the protection consciousness in the whole area and so on.
