ABSTRACT
Zhejiang is a traditional tea-producing province as well as a large tea-exporting province. Ranking in our country’s top place in tea gardening areas, outputs, exports and so on, it plays an extremely important role in the export of tea market in China. With the opening of tea market and increasing intense international competition, Zhejiang’s tea export develops tortuously. By means of studying the situation of Zhejiang’s tea export, this paper analyzes Zhejiang’s tea export quantity, export quotation, export quality, export structure and export market after the year of 2005 so as to catch a better understanding of Zhejiang’s tea trade from 2005 to 2009. Meanwhile, this paper summarizes some reasons influencing Zhejiang’s tea export. On the one hand, from domestic aspect, the high producing costs, poor sanitation quality and export enterprises’ own problems as well as the brand matter are main reasons to block the further development of Zhejiang’s tea trade. On the other hand, from international aspect, green barriers seriously hinder the tea export. Through the analysis of these factors, we can draw a conclusion: Quality is the key to increase the amount of tea export and enhance the international competence. Therefore, technological innovation and service system urgently need to be built; tea base construction need to be strengthened, tea postpartum process to be promoted and new products to be developed. What’s more, quality security system should be set up to realize market diversification, products branding, and the strategy of systematical operation. Moreover, both ties connecting among industries and cooperation between industries and departments need to be strengthened and innovation to be focused on.
