Yangtze River Delta economic integration has become a kind of irreversible “category” in the development of the region. Yangtze River Delta region is the core area of the city's economic development, with a highly export-oriented economy and a rapid process of internationalization. Compared with other domestic regions, it does not only holds the unified leadership of the country, as well as social system and the common social and cultural similarities, but also shows good economic fundamentals and uniformity of the investment environment. Building metropolitan-based integration of the Yangtze River Delta region will become the basic path of economic development. The strategic cooperation, optimizing the industrial structure and taking the road of scientific development in Yangtze Delta say the new ideas of economic integration.
This paper takes examples of the two very first economic integrated regions, New York and Tokyo major metropolitans. It analyzes their development characteristics and problems encountered in content areas in the economic integration process, and summarized the feasibility of their development experience to provide reference and inspiration for Yangtze River Delta economic integration. This paper proposes a breakthrough in administrative division restrictions, economic development, economic integration;optimizing the industrial structure configuration; further construction of the regional transportation network; adhering to sustainable development and developing in a scientific way; solving the problem of floating population, building a harmonious society, a total of five aspects in the new round of integration strategy.
