Canned food is one of the main agricultural products exported by Zhejiang Province, with 20 million tons exported per year, and foreign exchange 200 million U.S. dollars, of which fruits and vegetables can account for more than 80%. Although the production process and production equipment were improved, yet relying on low-cost labor advantage to open markets made our canned food low added value, weak awareness of the brand, and satisfied with the benefits of short-term growth. Meanwhile, the relevant standard system has been lagging behind, policies and regulations are not sound, anti-risk ability of enterprise is weak, and is easily blocked by developed countries with green trade barriers.
It is essential to take measures to improve the export competitiveness of canned industry, so does to promote the development of the industry.
Through the research to canned food industry, there are few suggestions to improve the international competitiveness and business ability to resist risks.
