Abstract: Proceeding from a study of the original English text, this paper aims at sorting out translation methods, skills, theories and strategies used in translation practice, with reference to Mr. Yang Qishen’s translation edition (Yang’s edition), so as to find out problems, achieve desirable translation effect, and, finally, to make my own translation coherent and integrated. Besides, a study of William Faulkner’s life and other works will be made to get an insight into the author’s canonicity in general and his language in particular.
