Abstract: Nowadays, English has become more and more popular in China. However, the current University English situation is not so satisfying, both in classroom English teaching and learner autonomy. How could we ameliorate such aspects and how could we improve the present University English situation? My essay analyzes the recent condition of our University English teaching and the students’ learner autonomy, bringing forward some available and significant suggestions on how to improve classroom English teaching, the students’ autonomy, and how to combine them effectively. Moreover, I did a questionnaire in this essay concerning classroom English teaching and learner autonomy, and I did a serious analysis and conducted the data in order to give some advice to promote China’s University English teaching and to enhance the University students’ English study level.
