Title: Synthesis and Characterization of Chitosan-Metal complex
Abstract
Chitin is the only natural polysaccharide found so far, its biological is 10 billion tons per year, it is the second largest category of natural polysaccharide except cellulose. There are chitins in crustaceans、cockroaches、silkworm and other insects epidermis and algae 、cell wall. Chitosan is the products of chitin deacetylation, being a copolymer of β-(1,4) -2 - amino -2 - D-glucose units and β-(1,4) -2 - acetaminophen -2 - deoxy - D-glucose unit composed of copolymer. The molecular structure, the chitosan is a derivative of cellulose. The 2 for Glycogen is –NHCOCH3 or free –NH2, 3 for sin-OH and 6 for peter-OH, so chitosan are excellent complex ability to complex with transition metal, rare-earth metal ions even alkaline earth metal ions to complex chitosan metal. In this experiment,chitosan-Ferrous complex was prepared by the coordination of chitosan with Ferrous ion.Experiments on the optimal preparation condition was obtained as follows: 3%(wt)、Fe3+ solution、1.0g chitosan、tempreture 65℃、pH 1.8、time 6h,maximal Fe3+ absorbtion amount is 75 mg/g.the product was identified by IR and UV, chitosan can complex metal ions on –NH2 and –OH to make metal chitosan complex.
