Way In and Way Out for Our Middle School English Teaching

Abstract: In the author’s opinion, a sole approach is not appropriate for English teaching in China. After a brief introduction of the four major methods and approaches that have been playing an important part in our foreign language teaching, it goes on to analyze their imperfections and suitability. It is the author’s view that we should combine the reasonable and applicable factors of different methods and approaches so as to establish a methodology which is suitable and workable in the English teaching in China.
