The Chinese and Western Culture of Liang Ji—And to talk about the reasons for Liang Ji’s suicide
Abstract
Liang Ji ,a religious Confucianer in the transitional period of China Society during the Late Qing and Early Republic, was in pursuit of Confucian self-cultivation Qijia the spirit of the country across the land satisfactory to the feelings of tolerance to accept the Western new culture, new ideas. He abided by the spirit of traditional Confucian ethics, everything and everywhere to pure self-Confucianism, the Confucian life bend the positive reinforcement of the moral sentiments. But he did not do so, conservative culture of the West advanced into the positive response, hoped to combine it with the traditional, had become used to things. However, Liang Ji could not get out of the scope of Confucian culture, the sense worth of Confucian culture was still the mainbody of his culture standpoint. Liang Ji in Chinese and Western understanding of the character of Liang Shu-ming and the Chinese and Western Culture had a significant impact on the formation. And the entry of Western culture and the revolution caused by a variety of social problems, so that the Western culture Liang Ji was casting haze of confusion. He conflicted in Eastern and Western cultures, degradation of social reality, in the spirit of Confucian mental and moral, was driven by a sense of responsibility to country and society, walked up to Jingye lake, attempted to gnosis everybody.
