Abstract: In this paper, the graft copolymer PP-g-St was prepared by polypropylene and styrene by solution polymerization with the initiator benzoyl peroxide (BPO). The copolymer was characterized by IR,it is showed that copolymer posses more a styrene
group of peaks compared with PP.The crystallization morphology of the PP and PP-g-St two samples was measured by polarizing microscope, the results show that the size of crystal was decreased. The isothermal and non-isothermal kinetics of copolymer was researched by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). In the isothermal process, the crystallization kinetics was investigated with different annealing temperature such as 128, 130,132,134 and 136℃. .In the non-isothermal process, the crystallization kinetics was investigated with different cooling rate such as 5, 10, 20, 40℃/min. respectively.
The DSC dates was discussed by Ozawa and Avrami combination Takhor equation, Kissinger and the isothermal crystallization process equation analysis, PP and PP-g-St data found Ozawa equation is not suitable for PP and PP-g-St of isothermal crystallization process, through the Takhor Kissinger and the activation energy equation numerical closer.
