Abstract:The research demonstrates a web-based 3D terrain display technology which based on a view-dependent LOD technology and a seamless, multi-resolution, high performance spatial index, and spatial query capability massive image spatial database management system. This technology integrates with GIS system, and it also provides capabilities for user to overlay spatial information or to make spatial query on 3D data. The system also provides development kits which allow users to develop customized 3D terrain display and analysis web pages.
