With the development of information technology and China entering into WTO, the small enterprises in Mainland face the more and more severe competitive environment. In order to improve their competitive position to survive and develop, the enterprises need to not only enhance their manufacturing technique but also take full advantage of existing resources to increase the managing and operating capability. In fact, there are many enterprises in the world which succeed in adopting ERP system to increase the competitive power and acquire huge economic benefit. However, in the Mainland there is few enterprise to deploy the ERP system, and the successful case is fewer.
This article based on this studies the ERP management theory and the application of Small and medium-sized Enterprises. The full text is divided into five parts: the first chapter on this subject introduces the background, purpose of the study, research ideas and research methods. The second chapter in a theoretical view introduces the concept of ERP and development process, pointing out that ERP is not just computer software, but also an advanced management ideas and methods of management .The third chapter detailed analysis of the ERP application in small and medium enterprises and advantages and disadvantages, which pointed out the existing problems and proposed solutions. Then in the fourth chapter of this paper, the ZheJiang Golden Eagle Food Machinery Co., Ltd. example of the implementation of ERP be corroborated. The last chapter has summary the full text, pointed out the insufficient ,continued trying.
The study on the topic has some theoretical and realistic significance which is to exploit a methodology of combining the ERP management concept and the computer technology then applying to the small manufacturing enterprises.
