Abstract
Today, the China automotive industry developing swiftly, already became the backbone of Chinese manufacturing industry. However Chinese Automobile Enterprise have large disparity comparing with the overseas outstanding enterprise, the quality is generally low. As the automobile industry competition developing to globalization and our country economic system developing to market oriented, on the base of this kind of new time background, enhancing the quality (including quality of service) of the automotive industry diligently, has the vital practical significance. Fortunately, Six Sigma, which is very popular in management region, may take the responsibility at this time.
Six Sigma which was established in 1987 by Motorola is a rigorous and a systematic methodology that utilizes information (management by facts) and statistical analysis to measure and improve a company's operational performance, practices and systems by identifying and preventing 'defects' in manufacturing and service-related processes in order to anticipate and exceed expectations of all stakeholders to accomplish effectiveness.
In this article, first it systemic elaborates the phylogeny of quality as well as the basic principle and technology of Six Sigma, unify the specialty of China auto industry, it discuss thoroughly the way of effectively developing Six Sigma. Moreover, it also proposes 5 cores essential and some challenges faced when guaranteeing Six Sigma successfully implemented in the auto industry. At the end of the article, Experiment Design, which is an important method of Six Sigma improvement is discussed. After the introduction of the basic way and the implementation step of Experiment Design, an example from auto industry has been used to demonstrate the Experiment Design's work process and its advantage.
