Title: Psychological care of elderly patients with lower limb fracture after surgery
ABSTRACT
Background
As China's increasingly aging population, the elderly, changes in psychological characteristics become increasingly evident. They generally pay attention to physical exercise and diet nutrition, but this misses the mental health, especially those who suffer from functional disabilities, such as fractures, paraplegia and other diseases, mental imbalance is even more prominent. With modern medicine from the biomedical model to the psychological - social - changes in bio-medical model, nursing model from the functional to holistic nursing model of care, psychological care and more and more important, health care workers to do the psychological care of older persons, especially among older patients with lower extremity fractures psychological care.
Objectives
This paper examines the elderly's mental state after lower limb fracture and nursing responses.
Methods
By choosing, within 24h after admission of 100 cases of elderly patients with lower extremity fractures, the application of mental health symptoms SCL-90 self-rating scale for testing. On access to data and data processing, analysis and summary, the full understanding and knowledge of the elderly lower extremity fractures of the objective existence of psychological symptoms after surgery.
Results
The results compared with the national norm, somatization, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety, terror is higher than the national norm (P<0.05), with statistical significance.
Conclusion
The elderly lower limb fracture surgery psychological symptoms of somatization, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety, terror, this nursing staff to conduct effective communication, timely and accurate assessment, for the reasons given appropriate care measures.
