ABSTRACT:As a new style motor, permanent magnet synchronous motors are receiving increased attention fordrive applications because of their high torque to ratio, superior power density and high efficiency, it has been got wider space of use and development in coming new centurt. In this paper, the method of design for permanent magnet synchronous motors(PMSM) is discussed. By the request of technologies, the configuration, airgap flux distribution and parameters of motors are researched. An effective method of design is implemented, according to the result of research.
The process of design in this paper is:
1.To select the stator configuration of PMSM refer to asynchronous motors whose capacity is similar to PMSM's.
2.To research the no-load airgap flux distribution, so as to select the rotor configuration, which consists of some important parameters, such as the permanent magnet dimension.
3.To calculate the important parameters and by the finite element analysis.
4.To get the motor's performance by calculation with known formulas, as a result an adjustment for the motor's configuration can be practised, when a combined method of altering the length of armature, the number of turns in the winding and the dimension of permanent magnet is used.
