Abstract
This project study the iterative methods used in inverse radiotherapy treatment planning. Iterative methods have often been used in inverse treatment planning as they are usually easy to understand an modifications can be made easily once the methods have been developed. One of the areas of application is in radiotherapy treatment. In this project, the gradient estimation method ,Newton method and genetic algorithm will be used to find an optimal beam intensity distribution and a optimal beam radiation distant of each individual beams. First, introduce the knowledge of inverse radiotherapy treatment planning and iterative methods. Second, introduce the methods-- the gradient estimation method ,Newton method and genetic algorithm, which are used in this project. Third, found the function, and use MATLAB software to simulate. The last, discuss the conclusions of methods which are used in this project, and find an optimal beam intensity distribution and a optimal beam radiation distant of each individual beams.
