ABSTRACT
This research based on animal proverbs, through the collection of information on different English and Chinese proverbs, having a comprehensive analysis about the definition of the proverbs and the position of animal proverbs. There must be some practical significance and theoretical value with the comparisons on English and Chinese proverbs. In this paper, it briefly refers to the cultural background, as well as the importance of this study, followed with the summarization of the English and Chinese proverbs on animals, then study the similarities and differences from disparate angles separately, and analyse the reason why cause these differences. Finally we get the result. In order to make us understand how the English and Chinese proverbs on animals are formed, as well as of the essence.
