ABSTRACT
This paper first explains the definition and current study of athletic equipments’ advertisement and also shows the summary of discourse analysis. Then it would make discourse analysis of athletic equipments’ advertisement based on linguistic and pragmatic theories by taking some typical advertisements as examples. Namely, the paper attempts to analyze from the aspects of discourse structure and discourse function. Besides, this paper tries to clarify some pragmatic features and functions of athletic equipment’s advertisement so as to make the consumers understand athletic equipment’s advertisement better. It also tries to promote the development of discourse analysis in advertisement.
