ABSTRACT
In an era of globalization, English has become an international language. As an international language, the global language—English plays an indispensable role in the world. India is a post-colonial country, and English is its official language, due to its due to Indian political, economic, cultural and historical background, Indian English has been deeply marked by Indian languages and has formed the unique its special characteristics. From the perspective of basic theory of linguistic, this paper tries to analyze the differences between Indian English and Standard English on pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary, and to summarize the characteristics of Indian English. The purpose of this study helps us to know the impact of Indian English on India, also help us to understand varieties of English, which is conducive us to improve the ability to use language.
