ABSTRACT
This paper first summarizes what Chinese and American scholars focus on about popular campus language, which is an emerging but powerful force, pointing out that researches are limited to linguistic level, social cultural level and psychological level, and elaborates the definition, characteristics of popular campus language between China and America. It then classifies the chosen Chinese and American popular campus language according to different forms of thinking patterns, and finally analyses the divergences of thinking patterns between Chinese and American students by means of corresponding classified popular campus language with thinking patterns.
