ABSTRACT
This paper first explains the study of the grammar differences between British English and American English is to cancel some barriers that may be caused by them in the daily communication, then introduces the history of British English and American English respectively. The two English varieties still have some differences though they are mixed with each other, especially the grammar differences between the two varieties which rare scholars have had a systematic study before. The author makes analysis from the aspects of the lexical differences and syntactical differences of these two varieties, and then predicts the tendency of the development of British English and American English.
