ABSTRACT
Public signs are closely linked with our daily life. It is of much significance to translate school public signs into English. In order to deepen the readers’ understanding of the current situation of school public signs and draw their attention to the importance of the signs, this thesis endeavors to probe into the current situation of school public signs translation through questionnaires, individual interviews and field investigation. The thesis also analyses the problems of the C-E translation of school public signs and puts forward some suggestions for improvement.
