ABSTRACT
This paper first shows the significant researches on gender differences from abroad and home to prove that gender differences play an important role in English learning. I first try to prove that gender difference exist in English study motivation through the questionnaire which I designed for girls and boys from two different middle schools. Then I analyze the data of questionnaire carefully. At last, l give some suggestions in order to improve students’ motivation according to my teaching experience. The overall purpose of the present study is to find out the different motivation of female and male middle school students in English learning. I hope this sort of study may helpful for students to promote learning efficiency and learning result. And the application of such insight may also be conducive to improve teachers' teaching management. Moreover, this research is conducted to make some contributions to the understanding of gender differences and language learning in middle school in Chinese contest.
