Abstract: Wuthering Heights is the only novel written by Emily. For centuries, there are many different opinions about the comments on the main character Heathcliff. The theme of this paper is to analyze the evolution about the character of male character Heathcliff through the analysis of the writing device, the reasons for writing and social backgrounds in Wuthering Heights. This main theme shows the British social malformation of life screen by analyzing the character of “love – hate – reverted to humanity” in Heathcliff. It presented many social problems such as class oppression, physical abuse, religion, morality, love and etc. The veil used by bourgeoisie is revealed by Heathcliff. The author reveals a variety of human existence in a unique and incisive perspective. Only by discarding its bad quality and drawing towards truthfulness, benevolence and loveliness, can humans get hope in the frustration.
