The education research shows that the students in middle schools are their important developmental stage, so middle school teachers have much more important educational responsibilities than other teachers. In China, at the end of 1970s, China has been popularizing English teaching in different kinds of schools .Accordingly, it needs more and more English teachers. But some of the incompetent teachers joined the staff in order to meet the needs of English teaching. After entering the 21st century, the globalization of economy seriously has affected the stability of the teaching staff. Some abandoned teaching to pick up business or chose official career. This leads to the decrease of the number of teachers as well as their qualities. Now it is the time we called for quality-education, teachers’ quality is a crucial link. This paper gives analysis for the connotation of teachers’ quality, English teachers’ quality and middle school English teachers’ quality. The aim is to bring forth some ways to improve their qualities with the combination of foreign experience in accordance with the existing problems on English teachers’ qualities.
