Abstract: Title, as the eye of a work, is closely related to the selling and popularizing of books. An appropriate title can help arouse reader’s interest and promote the selling of books. This text will analyse and discuss the translation of title from the perspective of Skopos Theory. According to Skopos Theory, translation is a behavior of strong purpose, which decides the translator’s choice of translating tactics and translating methods. Through the analysis of this text, we can reach a conclusion that Skopos Theory is a preferable guiding theory in translating tittles. Besides, this text will explain, under the guidance of Skopos Theory, the translating tactics and translating methods by analyzing some typical examples.
