Abstract
In the field of SLA study, learning strategies have long been a major concern of the academics, for the indispensable roles they play during the second language learning. Many researchers argue that learning strategies have an important influence on learning efficiency. This paper specifically focuses on the learning strategies use of non-English major college students, because many previous studies have been drawn to the English major students. Participants in this study are 94 junior students from two classes of Guangdong University of Finance. The questionnaire used is modified from the Oxford’s Strategy Inventory for Language Learning. According to the preceding production, this paper tries to analyze the current situation of the subjects’ learning strategies and puts forward some suggestions based on the results. It is hoped that the findings of this paper can help Chinese teachers to facilitate students on English learning, and assist the language learners to identify the appropriate strategies to improve learning efficiency.
