Abstract: The undergrand pool is deep foundation pit in the sewage treatment station and heat exchange station in new developed area of Handan Steel & Iron Co.,Ltd, the foundation pit is 13.7m and 13.5m deep respectivly. the foundation pit has rich groundwater and with claypan at upper part and sand gravel stratum at lower part. According to the real engineering situation, the combined supporting technology is adoped with soil nailing wall at upper part and retaining piles at lower part, the technology makes full use of the soil nailing wall support at upper shallow position and retaining piles at lower deep position, the technology is safe, reliable, economical and practical. It is worth to be popularized and applied in deep foundation pit.

二、支护方案选择
1. 该工程土层分布如下:杂填土、粉质粘土、细砂层、卵石层、高风化粘土岩。地下水位在-5.0m ,主要含水层为细砂层及卵石层,均为承压水层。粘土层为不透水层。
