Abstract : SAE has many years of history abroad,the purpose of this race is to improve
the students’ capability of design and innovation. The first students formula race will be held in our country this year.The issue is the layout design of the formula car. The layout design is the most important step of the car’s delelopment. This design relys on the formula race,and it will be designed under the constraint of the rule.Firstly, every structure of the car will be choosed on the basis of the rule and the specificity of the racing,then the main size will be determined by referencing the size of the similar racing,and calculate the quality、centroid、axle load etc according to the known position and quality of the structures.Then the main property parameter will be fixed according to the engine parameter and other data,then calculate dynamic、economy and safety function,anlysis the result.After ,the problem will be sloved,and the overall design will be optimizated .At last the layout picture will be drawed.
